Jennifer began her career as an activist and concerned global citizen in the second grade when she explained to her teacher that she would not be saying the pledge of allegiance because she found nationalism dangerous. Jennifer would always be moved by the idea of division verse unity in society and would explore this discontent in her many artistic projects. The irony that she is now trying to celebrate that very nationalistic spirit in her most recent project, Traitor, is not lost on her.
Studied at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, The Experimental Theater Wing and Circle in the Square on a full acting scholarship. Lead singer of several alternative rock bands and music projects. Paints in oil, acrylic and collage. Created her first production company for film, television, theatre, mixed media and music, Risk Productions in 1997, focusing on ‘projects that make a difference’. Wrote, directed and produced Yes! Damn it. to several sold out audiences at The Producer’s Club in NYC. Also co-produced the live action segment of Blue’s Clues for Nickelodeon, among many other film and T.V. projects. Jen continues to teach theater, film, writing, public speaking, fine art, and American history. She also writes screenplays, fiction and non-fiction books and poetry.
MUSIC - one of the most direct, and powerful, paths to truth.
Risk Productions was my film, theater, music and television production company. We had many multi media events in NYC, performance art, full productions and fine art. Mostly, it was an excuse to gather other artists together to try and make a dent in this weary sad world. - Jen
